Ziano Piacentino-SeminĂ²: Dama RE offers for sale a castle in Val Tidone. In a dominant position, perched on a gentle slope, the castle, of medieval origin, tells a story that begins around the year 1000. It belonged to Frederick II, then to the noble Leccacorvi family and to the Marquis Malvicini Fontana, an aristocratic Piacenza family.
The castle is surrounded by land of about 17,000 square metres divided into several portions classified as orchards, vineyards and arable land, only part of which is protected by cultural and environmental heritage.
The castle has a total surface area of 1,200 square metres and consists of a habitable part and two parts to be redeveloped, including a farmhouse. The property consists of three floors arranged as follows:
- ground floor: a majestic staircase leads to a portico in the centre of the castle where one enters a living room with kitchen and bathroom, a second living room, a bedroom and two other rooms for laundry use; this is followed by two small flats with one bedroom each;
- first floor: a characteristic seven-arched loggia leads to two large living rooms, followed by a kitchen and a bedroom with bathroom;
- second floor: three large rooms and a bathroom.
In the basement there are four cellars and a characteristic chapel.
The part of the castle to be redeveloped consists of:
- ground floor: one large room, a storage room and a well;
- first and second floor: one large room plus two communicating rooms.
The farmhouse to be redeveloped, located to the side of the castle, is composed as follows:
- ground floor: three large interconnected cellars, a large storage room and a wood store;
- first floor: six rooms communicating via two separate entrances;
second floor: large attic internally connected with the first floor.
The farmhouse and much of the surrounding land is not protected by cultural heritage, so it is possible to build a swimming pool.
The castle is declared to be of great artistic and historical interest, and the surrounding valley has had a strong vocation for wine production since the 1950s, including Gutturnio D.O.C. made from Barbera and Bonarda grapes in addition to an excellent Malvasia, Ortrugo, Pinot Grigio, Muller Thurgau and Chardonnay.
